An art historian, a critic, and a columnist, Anda Rottenberg has organised and curated numerous exhibitions and written academic articles and essays on art published in Poland and abroad. In 1993-2000, she was the director of Zachęta art gallery in Warsaw. Since 1998, she has been the president of the Instytut Promocji Sztuki foundation. She is the author of, among others: Sztuka w Polsce 1945–2005  (2005),  Przeciąg: Teksty o sztuce polskiej lat 80.  (2009), Rottenberg. Już trudno (2014, with Dorota Jarecka),  Berlińska depresja. Dziennik  (2018),  Lista. Dziennik 2005  (2019), and  Zbliżenia. Szkice o polskich artystach  (2020). She has been nominated for the Nike Literary Award and the Gdynia Literary Prize. In April, Marginesy will publish the new edition of Proszę bardzo, in which the author reconstructed the history of her family.
