With a PhD in history, she also studied at the Institute of Audiovisual Arts and the Institute of Jewish Studies at the Jagiellonian University, at the University of Warsaw (Gender Studies and the Hebrew Philology), and in Lodz Film School. An academic lecturer, a film critic, and a playwright, she focuses on the themes of sexual violence during World War II and the forgotten victims of Nazism. The author of the famous Przemilczane. Seksualna praca przymusowa w czasie II wojny światowej (2018), for which she received the prestigious Mauthausen-Memorial-Forschungspreis award. In April, she published her latest book Oni. Homoseksualiści w czasie II wojny światowej.
